VALETA DOUGLAS TAKEN BY DEATH


Mrs. Valeta SEVERNS DOUGLAS of Twin Gables, route 1, Batavia, Ohio, a former Belvidere resident, died Sunday at Christ hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio, after a long illness. She was the wife of Stephen A. DOUGLAS, Kroger company executive.

Mrs. DOUGLAS was born Feb 1, 1898 in Belvidere. She graduated from high school in Belvidere and was married in the family home here to Stephen A. DOUGLAS of Chemung.

Mrs. DOUGLAS was a member of the Eastern Star and of the Batavia Garden club. She had lived in Ohio for 30 years.

Survivors include the husband; a daughter, Mrs. Charles NORMAN of Decatur, Ala.; a son, Charles, Miami, Fla.; five grandchildren; and her mother, Mrs. C.R. SEVERNS of 1329 Paxton avenue, Cincinnati.

Funeral rites will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Moore funeral home at Newton. Burial will be in the Batavia cemetery.

Friends may contribute to the American Cancer society, 1009 Main street, Cincinnati.
