MRS. RAY DOUGLAS HAS PASSED AWAY

Daughter of Sheriff and wife of Belvidere Business Man Summoned After Long Illness Which Took Acute Form a Week Ago.
Mrs. Edna SHATTUCK-DOUGLAS, wife of Ray DOUGLAS, died of Bright’s disease at 7:40 o’clock last evening at the home of her parents, Sheriff and Mrs. Loomis SHATUCK. She had been in poor health for seven years, and a week ago yesterday the illness took an acute form. The DOUGLAS home is at 219 East Fourth street, but she has been cared for at the home of her parents since she was taken sick a week ago.

The funeral will be held on Friday at 2 o’clock at Trinity Episcopal church. Rev. Gerald G. Moore officiating. Burial will be in the Belvidere cemetery.

Edna SHATTUCK was born in Belvidere on February 25, 1886, and grew to young womanhood in this city. She was married to Ray DOUGLAS February 1, 1908, and they for three years made their home at Paw Paw, Ill., where Mr. DOUGLAS was engaged in the grocery business. They then came to Belvidere and Mr. DOUGLAS later became associated in the grocery business with William LEITZELL, the firm name now being Leitzell & Company.

The death of Mrs. DOUGLAS brings grief and sorrow to the hears of a wide circle of friends; and they will extend deep sympathy to the members of the bereaved family in the loss of the young wife and mother, and to the parents and sister and brothers. She leaves her husband, her daughter Clara, six years old, her parents, Sheriff and Mrs. Loomis SHATTUCK, her twin sister, Mrs. Harry BUTLER of Wilmette, and her brothers, Frank and Carl.
