DEATH TAKES MRS. DOUGLAS


Mrs. Grace La Verne DOUGLAS, 57, died at 1 a.m. Tuesday in her home at 619 West Locust street after three years of failing health. Death resulted from a stroke. She was born in Eau Claire, Wis., June 21, 1900, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward TAYLOR.

She was educated in Eau Claire schools and married in that city July 17, 1920 to Jack W. DOUGLAS. For the past 37 years she has lived in the Belvidere area. Mrs. DOUGLAS was a member of the Holy Trinity Episcopal church.

Survivors include the husband: three sons, Leonard of Chicago, William of Belvidere and Donald of Rockford; and two brothers and three sisters living in Racine, Wis. Her parents preceded Mrs. DOUGLAS in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in the Atkins-Johnson funeral home by the Rev. Darwin B. Bowers. Burial will be in Belvidere cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Thursday.
